Introductory courses inspire workforces

City South has an ongoing programme of investment in staff training and development. With ITIL frameworks increasingly shaping the approach to IT scoping and delivery and introducing real rigour into process management City turned to Central to find out more.

  • Introducing ITIL for teams and organisations

City wanted a course that would ensure that all staff understood the context and relevance of ITIL to their work and that would lead in to appropriate qualifications being secured.

Central’s one day Appreciation of ITIL Course is delivered by an ITIL expert. It has been carefully tailored to introduce the background, concepts and processes involved in the service lifecycle as described by ITIL.

Through interactive sessions and real world illustrations the course is tailored to the business sector ensuring that City’s introduction to ITIL was in context.

  • What's in the course

A full one day course, for a suggested maximum of eight persons, is hosted by a Central ITIL Expert. Typically it covers:

    • Introduction to ITIL
    • ICT Service Management
    • Strategy Management
    • ICT Service Design
    • Transition Services
    • Operational Services
    • Continuous Service Improvement
    • Implementation methods

To ensure engagement illustrative questions, directly relevant to their operational environment, are used and practical scenarios explored.

  • ITIL Foundation and ITIL Expert

Whilst the one day introductory course is not designed to be an alternative to ITIL Foundation or Expert training it does serve a practical purpose. It serves to establish what Best Practice in service delivery would look like and to inspire individuals and teams to take up further qualifications.

Since completing the course a number of staff at City have gone on to take Foundation Level in ITIL with plans for the first to take ITIL Intermediate qualifications.
