Full Infrastructure Renewal and Disaster Recovery

Peace of mind Disaster Recovery

Following the successful completion of our infrastructure project, with our partners Central Networks, we saw as much as a 60% improvement in delivery of key business applications; a tenfold increase in networking speeds; a new RTO and RPO of under six hours and all delivered with zero downtime for our users. This work has laid the foundation to allow Broadacres to improve and transform our ICT services delivering benefits to internal and external customers.
Mark Birch – Head of ICT

  • Broadacres Housing Trust

With nearly 6000 homes under management, the North East’s Broadacres Housing Association [BHA] captures in its statement ‘its not just about the bricks’ the importance of the wrap around services it delivers to residents.

Handling more than 80,000 enquiries a year and with a full online customer account management system, agile, flexible, scaleable and secure IT services are critical. Central Networks’ solutions delivered absolute confidence and optimal performance across the organisation.

  • Professional Services Team Deliver With Zero Downtime

Faced with a disparate ICT infrastructure and ageing components – coupled with deteriorations in performance of systems and core line-of-business applications – BHA appointed Central Networks to lead a full infrastructure refresh.

This saw Central not only resolve critical performance issues but also bring together the infrastructure elements into one coherent architecture. Backed by a clear implementation strategy and a simple delivery schedule it was a winning combination.

  • Secure future

Central started by reviewing the core switches which were at end-of-life with a maximum throughput of just one gigabyte per second with no option for upgrade.

A new 10 gigabyte core switch backbone using CISCO switches was specified and installed to provide a new and future proofed framework.

Fujitsu servers and storage, including the new and increasingly affordable SSD drives, provided the upgrade to the core infrastructure set-up and, with these two elements in place, delivered significant improvements in application performance and in staff productivity.

Finally with the growing volumes and increasing sensitivity of stored data Central’s review of Disaster Recovery RTO and RPOs saw the specification of a Veeam backup-server for the production site and Replication server at a remote location in Manchester.

  • Prince2 Project Management

Project implementation was led by Central’s professional services team over a two week period. Working to Prince2 project management protocols and ITIL standards resulted in zero user downtime.
